Oahu, HI // Day #6
We woke up this morning early with intentions to drive to the opposite end of the island and kayak on the waters near Lanikai beach. We stopped to get some breakfast at a local dig and then headed on to the rental shop. Once we were in Lanikai, we rented a kayak and headed for the islands off the shore of Lanikai beach!! It was so fun to look down from the kayak and see fish swimming underneath us! When we got to the beach of the little island, we were shocked to see a sea lion bathing in the sun.. SO COOL! We beached our kayak and hiked to the opposite end of the little island to swim in the famous ‘Queens Bath’ [a natural ocean pool.] Exploring this island was everything I was hoping for and more. It was beautiful and secluded. Josh had to beg me to leave… While we were kayaking back to Lanikai, we came across sea turtles!!! I WAS DYING!! I LOVE TURTLES!! It was so fun to be among all of this aquatic life! After we had finished our kayak trip and returned our kayaks, Josh and I drove to Hanauma Bay to check out the snorkeling. It was beautiful. On our way back to north shore, we stopped for pizza at a local pizza hut for some [really] delayed lunch. We arrived back home just in time for the Waimea Farmers Market!! We went from shop to shop testing all of the local food and drink, we even ended up buying some pineapple/ mango salsa [SO GOOD.] Josh was stoked because we finished in time for him to surf at sunset, and I was excited to hang on the beach and take photos. We went to a killer Mexican place called Cholos for dinner, and finished our night with good old fashion Harry Potter….
