A couple weekends ago I hosted Bob Irwin (Steve Irwins son) as well as Wes and Riley Mannion (Steve’s best friend.) They gave Ethen and I a card and said if we wanted to come to the zoo, they would give us a first class tour! Collin hadn’t been yet so we decided that today was the best day to do it! Ethen called up Wes and we drove out to the Sunshine Coast to see the animals! It was WAY better than we expected! We were treated like KINGS! They picked us up from the parking in a golf cart and took us back through the back roads to meet animals! They started us off with playing with the Tigers! We got to pet and hang out with a Siberian Tiger! It was insane! They even told us to gather around Collin because the tiger might react to his cast and crutches! Very few people get to do what we did! After the tigers they took us to the reptiles and Wes Mannion literally opened the glass case of the top ten deadliest snakes in the world and picked them up and let us TOUCH them! Afterwards we got to hold a HUGE boa constrictor (they told us this boa was famous because it has been held by all the celebrities that come by, including Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Celine Deon, and way more!) Following the boa was the baby Koala, so cute! After they gave us free lunch and snacks where we were joined by Terry Irwin (Steve Irwins Wife) as well as Robert and Bindi Irwin (his kids!) After a lunch with good company, we got to go feed the Bear Cats, the Wallabies, and the Seals! We were the first EVER group (that wasn’t part of the zoo) to have an encounter with the Seals! It was so much fun! The day came to an end and we were all sad and SO thankful to Wes and the zoo crew that made it happen for us! A day we will NEVER forget!
