When you think about a romance in Europe…. ITALY. Venice was just that… romantic. We arrived in the afternoon and stayed right in the city thanks to airbnb! It was a perfect apartment, and even had a balcony fixed with stringed lights and a table for gathering.. speechless! We had our first meal (dinner) in the heart of the city and of course it was pizza! How could we resist! After quite possibly the best pizza I’ve had in my life thus far, we headed to the water taxi port to meet my in laws. They are joining us for a couple of days here in Europe and we could not be more excited! We celebrated there arrival with none other than gelato on the canals. The next morning we woke up early and started our day walking the narrow streets of Venice. We saw things like the Grand Canal, Doges’ Palace, Saint Mark’s Basilica, St. Mark’s Square, San Lazzaro deli Armeni, and Santi Giovanni e Paolo. I took art history in high school so I was in HEAVEN seeing these beautiful pieces of art and architecture! As the sun started to set and our feet started to ache (and want to fall off..) we ventured to find a gondola! Gondola riding under the Grand Canal at sunset in Venice (with my husband) was an enchanted moment. I was in absolute heaven! We finished the night with dinner next to the Grand Canal, and macaroons to follow in our cute little apartment! The next morning was go time, we had to catch a train to Rome, so we had crepes on the balcony and took in every last moment of this magical place! My heart is so full!
