Molde, Norway

Molde started bright and early with a trip to the Romsdal Museum. This museum was compiled of a dozen houses each with a different traditional activity inside. We started off at the old church where we were greeted by a Norwegian playing a Norway classic on her violin. Then made our way to the bakery were we were given traditional Norwegian pastries to try (yum!!) We learned how to brush out fresh cut wool from children in one house, and how to folk dance on the grounds in the middle. I had such a blast learning about the traditions in Norway and would recommend this museum to ANYONE who asks! After spending the morning at the museum, we made the journey to the Atlantic Road. The Atlantic Road is known for its zig zags across low bridges that jut out over the sea, linking the islands between Molde and Kristiansund. This road has won multiple awards for its incredible architecture and sketchy outstretches over the ocean! It was so fun to be able to drive the 4 miles of this road! We ended our day walking through the city (which is also known as the “town of roses,”) complete with admiring the statue of the young girl holding roses in the center of the city. What a perfect way to end the day.
