Bali, Indonesia
Today was our last day in Bali so after breakfast Josh, Gavin, and I decided to go rent vespas and head to the Bali Zoo to ride elephants and hold animals! For only five dollars, we could rent vespas for an entire day!! The only catch was that driving in Bali was DANGEROUS! The best way I can think to put it was organized CHAOS! No rules, just people weaving in and out of each other at random speeds. Crazy!!
After an hour of wrong turns and guessing which roads to turn down, we found ourselves at the gates of the Bali Zoo! Once we had purchased our tickets we headed straight over to ride the elephants! I was freaking out! Josh and I got to ride the biggest elephant in the zoo! His name was booty, and he was HUGE! Gavin rode a girl elephant named Ana. We went on a ride through the zoo on top of the elephants and everyone was stopping to take pictures of us. On the way back, the elephants stopped at a water hole and cleaned themselves with their trunks…. WITH US ON THEIR BACKS!! They would shoot water on our legs and up in the air, it was so cool to watch! The trainers let us feed them when our ride was up! We really bonded with those guys!
After the elephants, we were able to hold a bearcat, and play with a lion cub! It was insane! When the hands on experiences had finished, we wandered through the rest of the caged animals. Such a fun day with the boys! We grabbed some lunch and jumped back on the vespas to pack up for our flight home from Bali tonight ): we were so sad to be leaving! Once we were all packed we headed out for our last meal in Bali. It was on the water and a great last meal, but still very sad. When we got to the airport that night, we checked in and the gang hung out in a pack on the floor because the seats in the airport were very few. We were all excited for the midnight flight in hopes that we would all just pass out and wake up in Brisbane. Josh and I kept saying how we were SO lucky to have had this experience together. Such a fun vacation! We love Bali!
