Sunshine Coast, Australia
Today we were lucky enough to head to the Aussie Zoo in the Sunshine Coast, better known as Steve Irwin’s Zoo! We woke up early and drove out to meet up with the gang. When we got there, the zoo brought out some animals just for Nitro to hold and take photos with! We got to play with a boa constrictor, a Koala bear, a baby alligator, a wombat, and fun birds! It was crazy! The Koala Bear even pooped in Veronica’s hand! That was pretty funny! After pictures, we grabbed some breakfast and headed to get some seats for the Crocodile show! It was crazy! They first started off with a bird show… That was pretty intense. All different types of birds flying all around you, some MASSIVE. Then the crocodiles…. they blew everything out of the water for me!! The snapping of their jaws when they would jump for food was terrifying! It was SO loud! They are such eerie and creepy animals. If I was ever caught alone with one of them, yikes!
After the Croc show, we headed to feed Kangaroos! Of course with the Nitro gang it couldn’t be just innocent feeding. We ended up dancing with kangaroos, taking selfies, cuddling with them, giving them hand shakes, and much more. The zookeeper even came over to tell everyone to be more respectful. SO funny! Once we ran out of food, we ended up heading over to feed more elephants! These ones were messy elephants. When they would eat they would slobber all over our hands. It was nasty, but amazing at the same time. We got some photos and then headed on down to the next big event, the Tiger show! This show was crazy; the keepers were literally wrestling the Tigers and pushing them in the water. One tiger even climbed to the top of a huge tree! At one point I was in the front row pushed up to the glass and the keeper threw a toy right at the glass in front of me, and the tiger literally looked like it was lunging at me! SO COOL! I got some great footage!
After the tiger show, it was starting to get late, so we all headed back for the cars to head home. When we got back, we made dinner (which is the least expensive and best kind of food) and rented a movie to watch! A nice way to end a fun filled day with the crew!
