Alesund, Norway… better known in my mind as the city on the ocean. When we arrived in Alesund, I was in disbelief over the city. We started our morning off visiting the Sunnmoere Museum where we got to experience how life was in Norway many years ago. There was over 50 distinct (old) houses, each with a different “theme” such as a house for the animals, a house for cooking, and a house for sleeping. It was incredible, but also very humbling to see what was considered important and necessary back then. After taking in the Norwegian culture, we made our way up to 400+ steep steps to overlook the city at the Fjellstua Viewpoint. The sky was pretty clear and we had a perfect view of the city below. Later in the day we found ourselves at the Atlantic Sea Park, which featured many odd water dwellers including my personal favorite, baby seals!! We spent hours playing (hands on) with turtles, crabs, lobsters, star fish, penguins and other fun animals. I was amazed at how hands on they allowed us to be! We ended our day walking around Borgernes veg and Aksla Stadion. I would love to spend weeks in this majestic city!
