Oahu, HI // Day #1
I am feeling so incredibly blessed to start my year off in HAWAII with the man I love! Also because this same man of mine is the most adventurous and fun person to be with and makes me the happiest person. We arrived in HI last night, rented a car, and ventured to the north shore to find our airbnb for the week. Our home for the week could not be more perfect! Today we woke up early to start our vacation off here in Oahu. After some good ol’ breakfast, we took beach cruisers and rode them all along the north shore, stopping at every beach we could see along the way. We managed to find Pipeline and watched some massive waves and skilled surfers. When we arrived back at our place, we took the car for some lunch at the KAHUKU grill in Laie. The cowboy burger and the shem burger are on point! I have never had such a tasty burger!! …don’t even get me started on their fries!! YUM! Next was visiting the Laie, Hawaii LDS Temple. I love temples, and this one was incredible!! Theres something about temple grounds that just put all of your worries at peace and make you feel so good.. After spending some quality time at the temple, we found ourselves lounging on Waimea beach [probably my most favorite beach in Hawaii!!!] The waves were MASSIVE so the lifeguards wouldn’t let us get in the water, but we didn’t mind lounging on the beach and soaking in the sun… We made our way down to Sunset beach and watched our first Hawaiian sunset [coincidence? I think not..] For dinner we ventured through a food truck roundup and settled with some delicious Hawaiian pork marinated to perfection…. [my mouth is watering just thinking about it!] We definitely were on vacation mode because nothing stopped us from enjoying some good old coconut gelato for dessert.. To finish the night we went home and fell asleep to Harry Potter.. [the perfect way to end the day in my opinion] Day 1 was definitely one to remember..
