Madea – People are Like Tree’s
Madea you are incredible!! This video perfectly states everything you need to know about relationships [well most things..] There is SO much good packed into these 5 short minutes… SO much good!
Just a few thoughts…
“Some people come into your life for a lifetime, others come into it for a season… you’ve got to know which is which…”
I put everybody that comes into my life in the category of a tree:
- Leaves: Some people are like leaves on a tree. When the wind blows they’re over here, when it blows the other way… they are over there. When the season changes, they wither and die… and they’re gone. MOST people in life are like this… they are just there to TAKE from the tree. They give shade every now and again, but mostly they just take.
- Branch: These are the people that you have to be careful of. They make you THINK they are a good friend and they’re real strong, but the minute you step out on them they’ll break and leave you high and dry.
- Roots: These are the kind of people that are not going ANYWHERE. They aren’t worried about being seen [showing people what they have done for you], they are worried about who knows what they are doing for you. [BOTTOM LINE] If the roots weren’t there… the tree wouldn’t survive. [These are the true/ heart of gold/ loyal/ loving relationships that you FIGHT FOR!!]
You can have a hundred million branches and only a few roots.. and you will get everything you need.
When you find yourself a root.. HOLD ON TO THEM!! The rest [branches & leaves], just let them go. [They were in your life for a season and they taught you lessons you needed to learn, but let them go…]
Nobody said it would be easy.. but it will get easier when you learn how to LOVE YOURSELF.
You have got to learn how to be by yourself [how to love yourself]. People have to learn how to be ALONE… If you don’t know how to be with yourself, what are you going to do with somebody else? —You’d be surprised the things people put up with just to have somebody to tell them they love them…
I love this video so much [shoutout to my girl Hope who brought it to my attention]!! I think that everyone EVERYONE can take something from this video and apply it to their lives.. Madea, you are so inspirational!
